Re “Bush Can’t Be Trusted on the Environment,” letters, Feb. 13: We agree with the sentiments expressed and found the results of the recent survey of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service scientists simply appalling. However, all of the species mentioned as recently recovered -- including manatees -- are still listed as endangered or threatened by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, at least for now.
