Questioning of Nurse at Screening Was ‘Obscene’
- Share via
Re “Nurse Is Asked How She Got Into Screening,” Feb. 23: Nurses call for safer patient care (there’s not a dime in this for us) and the governor jeers, “kicking their butts” as “special interests.” Now a uniformed registered nurse sitting quietly in her seat at a film screening in Sacramento attended by Arnold Schwarzenegger is [identified] as a security threat, detained by armed CHP guards and questioned about any plans to harm the governor. “Well, you were wearing a nurse’s uniform.”
Registered nurses cheerfully do oft-unpleasant tasks for sick people, at dismal hours for lousy pay. Now we’re only trying to improve the quality of that care, and this is how the people’s governor responds. This is beyond shameful; it’s obscene.
