Small-town Italy, grand memories
SUSAN SPANO’S article [“Return to Glorious Lipari,” Feb. 20], where she sought out her roots, brought back memories of visiting my grandparents’ birthplaces in Sicily in 1994. Being there with my wife, two sons, daughter-in-law and two grandsons was a poignant experience for me. My grandparents were from two small towns south of Palermo, and my son’s ability to speak Italian fluently made the trip extra special.
Thank you for your usual interesting accounts of places around the world.
