Ban on Smacking Kids Hard Now in Effect
From Times Wire Reports
Parents in England and Wales who smack children so hard that they leave a mark now face up to five years in jail under new laws now in effect.
Mild smacking is allowed, but any punishment that causes visible bruising, grazes, scratches, swellings or cuts can result in action under the new legislation.
A similar law already is in effect in Scotland.
