Razorlight out to conquer U.S.

Will Razorlight turn out to be a Franz Ferdinand or a Libertines? Those two bands represented the highs and the lows of last year’s British imports in terms of outcome, with FF winning the hearts of the U.S. and the Libertines imploding because of internal problems, despite their bursts of brilliance. Razorlight, whose sound on its debut album evokes both forerunners, is among the first of the high-profile products of England’s Class of 2005 to hit the shores of America, a land that leader Johnny Borrell has pledged to conquer.
