Serbian General Surrenders

Serbian army Gen. Vladimir Lazarevic surrendered to authorities and will go to the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague next week to face charges, the government announced.
Lazarevic is one of four generals indicted 15 months ago on charges of war crimes in Kosovo province in 1999. The government’s refusal to arrest any of them despite constant Western pressure prompted penalties last week by the U.S. and EU.
