A Riverside couple is being sought in connection with the disappearance of a 62-year-old Lake Forest woman who has not been seen for more than two weeks, authorities said Friday.

Nicholas Vovos, 22, and his wife, Deborah Sue Miller Vovos, 39, are considered “persons of interest” in the case, said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The two are suspected of taking large sums of money from the missing woman’s bank accounts and may be driving her car, a blue 2005 Honda Accord, Amormino said.

Carolyn Dunn Avdeef was last seen June 15 at her Belquest Drive home in Lake Forest. Her employer called police June 22 when she failed to show up for work.

Avdeef had rented a room to the couple and Deborah Vovos’ mother, Amormino said.

He added that the couple have extensive criminal records and are considered armed and dangerous.

Nicholas Vovos also goes by the names Nick Waters and Eric Roberts, Amormino said.
