From Times Wire Reports

For the first time since record-keeping started in 1950, no one was killed in the United States by a tornado in April, May or June, officials said.

“That is prime tornado time, so it’s amazing,” said Joseph Schaefer, director of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Prediction Center in Norman.

Normally, the top months for tornadoes average 52 fatalities.
