West Bank Settlers’ Refusal to Leave
Re “Some West Bank Settlers Dig In Their Heels as Pullout Looms,” July 3: Now that Israeli settlers are being ripped forcibly from their homes, they might get a clue as to how the Palestinian people feel about being bulldozed out of their homes. What goes around comes around.
What arrogance to believe that God has chosen you above all others. God intended this Earth to be shared by all of his creatures.

The solution to Israel’s problem of its citizens refusing to leave Gaza and parts of the West Bank is simple. Many Israeli soldiers have died needlessly protecting a few selfish and misguided people; all Israel should do is give a timetable for withdrawal of its soldiers and then leave. Those settlers not wishing to leave may stay and deal with the consequences of their decision. It is impossible to use reason with people who believe they were given the land by God.
