Huddleston Wins His Fourth in Five Races

Pole-sitter and series leader Tim Huddleston overcame Mike Johnson’s early lead to win the NASCAR Auto Club Late Model race Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway, his fourth victory in the last five races.

Huddleston passed Johnson on the 27th lap and stayed in the lead for the rest of the 50-lap race on the half-mile track. Johnson started second in the 20-car field, led the first 26 laps and finished second, 1.142 seconds behind Huddleston.

Jimmy Sloan won the Super Stocks race and Steve Guccione won the American Speed Assn. Speed Truck Challenge on the half-mile track. Tom Landreth won the Legend Cars race, Kevin Bernhardt the mini-stocks race and 11-year-old Brock Murphy the bandoleros race on the one-third-mile track.
