Police Arrest Suspect in Daniel Pearl Case

Mohammed Hashim Qadeer, who was accused of setting up the initial meeting between Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl and his kidnappers, was arrested in a bus terminal in the eastern Pakistani city of Gujranwala, officials said.

Pearl was abducted Jan. 23, 2002, in the southern city of Karachi and later beheaded.

A Karachi court has convicted four Islamic militants in the case, and two others were killed in shootouts.
