Winter’s not the only season that starts with ‘W’

Party boys Michael Sutton and Rick Calamaro hosted a poolside bash at the W Hotel in Westwood for Monday’s Memorial Day holiday. Such sun bunnies as Dax Shepard, Seth Green, Jesse Metcalfe and Paris Hilton joined in on the fun.... And speaking of Hilton, congrats are in order. The scene queen celebrated her engagement to beau Paris Latsis with a barbecue Sunday at Hilton’s Hollywood Hills home. We hear the lovebirds toasted their pending nuptials with Intrigue martinis. How very chic.... And in more Michael Sutton news, the actor-promoter is offering a new summer deal for scenesters with dough. It’s a members-only club (think 9-0-2-1-Oh!) with access to a Santa Monica beach house every weekend for the duration of the summer. Part of the perks: He’s bringing in promoters Xenii (pronounced X-e-knee) to host after-hours parties at various locations starting June 17. We hear Jamie Kennedy, Michael Vartan, Tara Reid and Kimberly Stewart are already members. .... And just in time for summer, Bolthouse Productions debuts its latest Thursday night party tonight at Lucky Strike Lanes in Hollywood. Each week guests can get their bowl on while DJs Brent Bolthouse and Samantha Ronson spin tunes. In tonight’s tournament, four modeling agencies compete for first place. I might even pay to see that.

Adding to the ‘Entourage’

Last Wednesday’s Salt magazine party at Mood in Hollywood brought out the cast of “Entourage,” as well as Ryan Phillippe, Ashlee Simpson and Chad Michael Murray.... Members of the Melvins dined at Ita-Cho on Saturday. Also at the tasty Japanese haven were actor Jake Gyllenhaal and rocker Mike Patton.... Speaking of rockers, Bo Bice got his groove on at the Key Club’s Anthrax show May 22, and Diana Ross showed up for the DMK Choreographer’s Ball on May 25. In more Key Club news, bad-boy journalist Pat O’Brien checked out a recent show by his son’s band, the Naturals. The Naturals return to the Key Club on Friday night for the Young Angels 310 Benefit, a youth fundraiser hosted by Mandy Moore and Shane West. ... Abby Travis brings her glitter rock cabaret, called Mata Hari, back to Tangier on June 15. Joining in the fun are Monique Powell from Save Ferris and drag artiste Mink Stole.

Amping up the Indie airwaves

All that star wattage must be giving Indie 103.1 (KDLD-FM) a shot in the arm. We hear ratings are up, in part no doubt to such jokers as Steve Jones, Danny Masterson, Rob Zombie and the tattooed love dolls, the Suicide Girls, who spin weekly sets at the radio station.... Took a trip to the Red Buddha Lounge last week and met up with owner Gianni Capaldi, who says he’s the only Scotsman of Irish origin to own a bar in Hollywood. I’ll drink to that. Capaldi also owns the Green Frog in Sherman Oaks.... Chatted up Layzie Bone at Roscoe’s in Hollywood. The Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rapper -- in town to promote his new record, “It’s Not a Game” -- performs Friday at the House of Blues and Saturday at the House of Blues Anaheim. And that’s the newz.
