87-Year-Old Woman Dies After Home Fire
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
An 87-year-old woman died Thursday at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, three hours after two police officers and a neighbor braved smoke and flames to carry her out of her burning home in Glendale.
Police said Antoinetta Miller suffered smoke inhalation and burns over 30% of her body in the fire that largely destroyed her house in the 2800 block of Manhattan Avenue. Investigators said she couldn’t flee because she was bedridden.
