CNN named longtime correspondent Miles O’Brien as co-anchor of “American Morning” on Monday, replacing Bill Hemmer, who has decided to leave the network. O’Brien, who currently serves as co-anchor of CNN’s afternoon show “Live From,” joins Soledad O’Brien (no relation) on the morning show June 20. Hemmer will continue with the show until then.

CNN/U.S. President Jonathan Klein also tapped two veteran producers to run prime-time programming. Victor Neufeld, executive producer of CBS’ “The Early Show,” is taking the helm of “Paula Zahn Now.” David Doss, a former executive producer of ABC’s “PrimeTime Thursday,” will be producing “Anderson Cooper 360.”

Both start in mid-June. Meanwhile, Klein announced that “The Situation Room” -- a three-hour news block anchored by Wolf Blitzer focusing on homeland security, politics and international affairs -- will begin airing midsummer.
