From Times Wire Reports

State Atty. Gen. Hardy Myers said in Portland that the state could resume issuing cards that allow patients to smoke marijuana even though the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the federal government could prosecute medical use of the drug. “The decision has no legal impact on the operation of Oregon’s program,” Myers said in a statement.

He said the Supreme Court decision “does not hold the state laws regulating medical marijuana are invalid nor does it require states to repeal existing medical marijuana laws.”
