Boylan Lifts Matadors

Ian Boylan struggled in a nationally televised game two days ago, but he more than made up for that Monday night in his last home game at Cal State Northridge.

Boylan, the Matadors’ star the last three seasons, scored a game-high 22 points to lead Northridge (16-11) to a 99-72 nonconference victory over UC Davis in front of 1,523.

The senior forward, who ranks second on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,534 points and is the leader in three-point baskets (176) and steals (259), was pleased with his effort against Davis (10-17).

“You couldn’t ask for a better night,” said Boylan, who had eight assists and seven rebounds. “Our teammates played for our seniors tonight. It hasn’t set in yet.”
