A very L.A. marathon

For the more than 22,000 runners and a legion of volunteers, this Sunday’s Los Angeles Marathon and bike tour will showcase the City of Angels. The top women runners start at 7:57 a.m., followed 20 minutes and 30 seconds later by the top men. The route is mostly on the flatter, faster course first used in 2002.
Marathoners can count on a water station each mile of the way as they tackle the hills and pass some landmarks.
