Kenny Anderson and a handful of his new teammates lingered on the court after Wednesday’s shoot-around, running through the Clipper playbook.

The veteran point guard, claimed on waivers Monday from the Atlanta Hawks, is playing for his sixth team in four seasons. He was in uniform but did not play in Monday night’s 87-86 loss to the Utah Jazz at Salt Lake City.

“He’s just going through play sets, trying to get up to speed,” Coach Mike Dunleavy said. “When we brought him into Utah, the plan was not really to play him, but we needed another body there in case one of our point guards went down. “We’re just trying to get him up to speed, where we are, and then we’ll use him accordingly. Once he’s comfortable, everything’s open. Whatever helps us win games.”

Anderson, 34, made his Clipper debut Wednesday night and did not score in five minutes in a 101-92 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Jim Raiche, a season ticket-holder from Tujunga, was given the keys to a new car after the morning shoot-around, his reward for making a half-court shot during a promotion between the third and fourth quarters of a Dec. 1 game.

Afterward, he attempted to recreate his winning shot in a makeshift contest with Clipper players. With no car on the line, he missed this time. Clipper reserves Lionel Chalmers and Zeljko Rebraca made their shots. They did not win cars.

Shaun Livingston returned from doctor’s visits in Alabama and Chicago and will have another MRI exam today before deciding whether to have surgery on his injured right shoulder. The rookie point guard suffered torn cartilage in the shoulder while making a steal against the Orlando Magic on Feb. 15.
