Old Story, New Site
Re “EPA Fights Waste Site Near River,” March 5: In its relentless search for uranium to build bombs 50 years ago, the U.S. government recklessly subjected thousands of Utahans to radioactive poisoning. Now it wishes to subject millions of Californians to the same fate, unless the weather cooperates by not flooding the Colorado River, say, for the next 250,000 years. Considering what the Southland has just been through in terms of rain damage, does anyone think we can control the weather, or flood waters?
