AIDS Official on Leave in Fundraising Probe
The head of the county’s Office of AIDS Programs and Policy has been placed on administrative leave while county auditors and health officials investigate his fundraising for Antonio Villaraigosa’s mayoral campaign.
In an e-mail sent to the Board of Supervisors on Monday, health officials said they are continuing to investigate whether Charles L. “Chuck” Henry’s campaign activities violated county policies.
Henry, who has denied any wrongdoing, is accused of soliciting campaign contributions from executives in community groups that receive funds through his office.
