Man Arrested in Killing of Director of City Office

Police arrested a neighbor in the death of a member of the mayor’s cabinet.
William M. Parrot Jr., 38, was charged with first-degree murder while armed in the death of Wanda R. Alston, 45, who lived two doors away from him, District of Columbia Police Chief Charles Ramsey said.
Alston led the Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Affairs. Parrot was scheduled to appear in court today.
