Protests Continue Over Alleged Vote Fraud

About 1,000 people took to the streets of Bishkek to protest February parliamentary elections widely viewed as fraudulent -- the largest such demonstration so far in the Kyrgyz capital.
Meanwhile, the number of protesters in the city of Osh grew to 5,000, police said, and 2,000 people demonstrated in the southern town of Uzgen.
On Friday, about 400 protesters broke through police cordons and seized control of a regional governor’s office in Osh, officials said, the eighth government building to be occupied by opposition supporters since the protests began March 4.
