Funnel Cloud Knocks Out Power to 1,500

A funnel cloud raced through San Francisco Sunday, knocking down power lines and damaging several rooftops, police said.
The whirling cloud -- which National Weather Service meteorologists said they believe was a tornado -- was spotted at 3:40 p.m. After racing northeast, it dissipated over San Francisco Bay about 4 p.m. Officials said about 1,500 people were temporarily without power.
