2 Officials Arrested in Extortion Attempt

Federal agents arrested two customs agents on suspicion of trying to extort $500 from a merchant in exchange for waiving taxes on goods being brought from the United States into Mexico, officials announced.
Detained were Enrique Edu Villagomez and Raul Lazaro Trujillo, former chief and inspector, respectively, for Mexico’s customs department in the northern border city of Mexicali.
