* The average rate on 30-year mortgages rose for the sixth straight week to 6.01% last week from 5.95%, according to Freddie Mac. The 15-year fixed rate averaged 5.56%, up from 5.47%. The one-year adjustable rate was 4.24%, up from 4.20%.
* Sales of existing U.S. single-family homes and condominiums fell 0.4% in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.79 million units from January, while the national median home price jumped 11%, to $191,000, from February 2004, the National Assn. of Realtors reported Wednesday.
