Three Closed Churches Celebrate Easter Mass
From Times Wire Reports
Almost a year after the Boston Archdiocese closed or consolidated 80 parishes, priests celebrated Easter Mass in one-day-only services for three of the shuttered congregations.
Archbishop Sean O’Malley decided to close the parishes because of financial trouble stemming, in part, from settlements in the clergy sex abuse scandal.
O’Malley allowed Mass at St. Anselm in Sudbury, St. Albert in Weymouth and at a school for parishioners of Mary Star of the Sea Church in Quincy.
