Bolton’s Abilities

Re “Bolton’s a Tough Guy With a Cause,” May 1: According to the Senate hearings, when John Bolton, United Nations ambassador nominee, is confronted by underlings whose job it is to collect facts, analyze them and form an opinion, but whose resulting opinion differs from his, Bolton bullies them to change their opinion or, if that fails, he tries to get them fired.

On this basis, it would be hard to find a less suitable U.S. representative at the United Nations, yet it would be equally hard to find someone more suited to represent the Bush administration.
