From Times Wire Reports

Members of two legislative committees have agreed to cut in half funding for the state’s fight against Yucca Mountain, saying the federal plan to bring a nuclear waste dump to Nevada appears on the verge of collapse.

Gov. Kenny Guinn recommended $2 million for the state’s Yucca effort in his 2005-2007 budget.

But the Senate Finance Committee and Assembly Ways and Means Committee voted to reduce that amount to $1 million.
