From Times Wire Reports

Prosecutors dropped charges of conspiracy against three Kenyans who were suspected of plotting to bomb the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi in 1998 and 2003.

Salmin Mohammed Khamis, Kubwa Mohammed Seif and Said Saggar Ahmed are still charged with conspiracy related to the Nov. 28, 2002, bombing of an Israeli-owned hotel and attempts to shoot down an Israeli airliner north of the Indian Ocean port of Mombasa. The hotel attack killed 15 people.

Prosecutor Edwin Okello refused to say why the charges were dropped. A lawyer for the accused had said prosecutors failed to produce evidence.
