Peru’s Fujimori Denied Bail; Extradition Begins

Chile’s Supreme Court denied bail to former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori as Peru began the slow process of trying to extradite him to face human rights and corruption charges.
Fujimori was arrested Monday after arriving in Santiago from Japan. He planned to use Chile as a base to return to Peru to run for president next year.
