ChoicePoint Notifies 17,000 About Breach

ChoicePoint Inc., which had disclosed this year that thieves had accessed its massive database of consumer information, said in a regulatory filing that it had sent out 17,000 more notices to people telling them they might be victims of fraud.

The Alpharetta, Ga.-based company had said in February, after announcing the breach, that it had notified about 145,000 consumers that their personal information might have been improperly accessed.
