Retaliation May Be Behind Gang Rape
A woman gang-raped at her home by 10 men may have been targeted by a street gang bent on retaliating against rivals, investigators said.
Robert Naron, 18; Douglas Brandon, 20; and two 17-year-olds were arrested after Sunday’s attack. Six others, all believed to be desert members of the Hoover Street Crips gang of Los Angeles, have eluded capture.
“It appears that gang retaliation was involved, but I can’t elaborate,” Apple Valley Police spokeswoman Trish Hill said Monday. Hill wouldn’t say if the woman had gang ties.
The victim went on a date with a man who was one of the 10 who attacked her, Hill said.
