From Times Wire Reports

David Banach, 39, pleaded guilty in Newark to interfering with pilots of an aircraft by shining a hand-held laser into the cockpit of a private jet and could be sentenced to two years in prison, federal court officials said. Banach, who originally blamed the incident on his 7-year-old daughter, was charged with interference with pilots of a passenger aircraft -- a Patriot Act offense that carries a maximum of 20 years in prison. If the judge follows advisory guidelines, Banach will get 18 months to 24 months.
