* China’s assemblers are likely to make and sell 6.4 million passenger cars, vans, buses and trucks in 2006, spurring the country to surpass Germany as the world’s third-largest vehicle maker, Chinese researchers said.
* The Sun of Baltimore said it would offer buyouts to its staff with the goal of eliminating 75 jobs, or about 5% of its workforce. The newspaper is owned by Tribune Co., also parent of the Los Angeles Times.
