Style: It’s a matter of money carefully spent

RE “Maybe a Tweak Is All You Need” [Nov. 10]: Bettijane Levine’s piece on tweaking a home was well written and shows a fundamental principle I was brought up with: It is not how much money you spend but how carefully you spend it to create style and taste.

California’s obsession with flushing money down the drain of excess rather than cultivating intelligent spending and creating ambience with maximized cluck for buck was well presented in her story. I hope there will be more pieces like this in the future.
