The big picture
Re “School Board to Vote on Arts Campus Plan,” Nov. 22
L.A. Unified does not seem to get the picture when it comes to school funding. While it considers spending $120 million on a new arts high school, my daughter’s middle school fired its music teacher because too few students were enrolled (there were fewer than the district-required 37 students per period).
Instead of a new arts high school, let Eli Broad donate his $5 million to the current arts high school, and let’s make sure the proposed $120 million goes to funding more arts teachers in all elementary and middle schools.
