Rebraca Resting at Home; Heart Rate Is Normal

Share

Backup center Zeljko Rebraca, sidelined indefinitely because of an irregular heartbeat, was resting comfortably at home Friday and his heart rhythm was normal, Clipper Coach Mike Dunleavy said.

“He felt totally fine today, and that’s totally what you want to hear,” Dunleavy said. “They’ll run some other precautionary tests and tell us what they think, but that was good news.”

Rebraca, who did not accompany the team to play the Nuggets, was hospitalized overnight after Wednesday’s 103-100 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Staples Center.

The key reserve, sidelined 50 games while with the Detroit Pistons in the 2002-03 season after having undergone surgery to correct an irregular heartbeat, underwent tests at Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood and was released Thursday afternoon. Rebraca is scheduled to have more tests today.

“The good news is that they don’t think it’s serious,” Dunleavy said. “He’s out of the hospital, he’s home and there are no issues. That’s great.”
