Necessary barrier

Share

IN his review of “Wall” [“With Hopes It Will Come Tumbling Down,” Sept. 23], Kenneth Turan worries that the wall between Israel and the West Bank is “unsettling psychologically.” Unsettling? If terrorists were coming from Mexico or Canada and killing (pro rata for population) 3,000 Americans every few weeks, the American people would demand a barrier and politicians would line up to take credit for its speedy construction.

Turan might like to take a look at the aftermath of a bus bombing in Jerusalem for some unsettling psychological imagery.
