Construction Begins on Crossing to Gaza, Israel
From Times Wire Reports
Egypt has started constructing a crossing that will link Egypt, the Gaza Strip and Israel, an Egyptian border official said.
The official said the crossing would be built within three months, but did not specify when it would open. The fate of Gaza-Egypt travel depends on reaching an internationally mediated agreement with Israel.
The crossing will be south of the old Egyptian-Gaza crossing at Rafah, which Israel evacuated last month as part of its withdrawal from Gaza.
