Rebels Free 36 Captives, Including an American

Dissident rebels have freed all but two members of an African Union team who were kidnapped in Sudan’s western Darfur region, an AU spokesman said.
An American monitor was among the 36 set free. The team’s Senegalese leader and an interpreter were still being held.
