Limiting Children’s Access to Video Games

In reading “Game Industry Vows Fight Over Age Limit” (Oct. 8), I am surprised that the game industry thinks it’s above the rest of the entertainment industry.

Has Jeff Brown, the Electronic Arts spokesman, never heard of an R-rated movie?

We have laws with age limits for cigarettes, movies, alcohol, Playboy, some solvents, the “morning after” pill and gambling.

The video game industry sees children as consumers and provides them as much violence as possible to incite purchases.

As a society we have to be able to set limits on what is freely available to our children or at least allow parents to decide.
