2 Sheriff’s Deputies Killed in Fiery Crash

Two Kern County sheriff’s deputies died in a fiery crash early Thursday when a pickup rear-ended their car.
Josh Stancliff, 22, and Corey Wahl, 23, were stopped at a light about 1 a.m. when their car was struck and burst into flames.
The pickup’s driver, a 23-year-old Bakersfield man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter. His passenger, a 23-year-old Visalia man, was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness.
Neither was seriously injured, police said.
