Misleading the public
Re “Autopsies Support Abuse
Allegations,” Oct. 25
Words have meaning. Death from “blunt-force injuries and asphyxia” after being shackled to the top of a door frame with a gag in [the victim’s] mouth is torture and murder, not merely abuse. Minimizing such actions through word selection misleads the public about actions being taken in its name. This lack of candor is what led many people to believe that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11.
