Myanmar’s turmoil
Re “Saving Myanmar,” editorial, Oct. 27
The hypocrisy of U.S. foreign policy knows no bounds. Though we invaded a country to look for weapons of mass destruction, then regime change, etc., we idly watch a nation of people being persecuted by a group of brutal military rulers.
We have seen that sanctions and isolation do not work, and only hurt the very people we are trying to help.
The United Nations needs to galvanize the world and support Aung San Suu Kyi to bring democracy and freedom to the gentle Burmese people.
