A spirited display

Decanters, an absolute necessity for wine and spirits enthusiasts, can also be the building blocks of a beautiful tablescape. Though groupings of decorative glass vases have been stylish since the turn of this century, the decanter, usually equipped with a showstopper of a topper, lends an English accent to the California sideboard. That is not to say they need to be stuffy. Indeed, the latest designs are as shapely and colorful as classic vintage perfume bottles -- except on a much larger scale.
