Gunmen Kill 3 Officers, Seize Briton and Aide

Gunmen attacked a British journalist’s convoy in western Afghanistan, killing three policemen guarding it and kidnapping the reporter and his interpreter, officials said.
An Interior Ministry spokesman said the assault occurred Wednesday on the main highway in the western province of Farah.
He said no contact had been made with the kidnappers, but he blamed a criminal gang. The local police chief said he suspected the Taliban.
The Briton was not identified.
