Companions Say Biker Collapsed Before Dying

A mountain biker died Friday of an unknown medical cause while riding in the Silverado Canyon area in northeastern Orange County, according to a sheriff’s spokesman.
Authorities first believed that the unidentified man died in a fall about 12:20 p.m., but the biker’s riding companions told deputies that he had collapsed, said Lt. Lloyd Downing.
