THE subtitle for your recent article on Texas drive-ins stated that “watching the latest Hollywood blockbuster from the comfort of your vehicle may be a fading memory for most Californians” [“Going Out to a Movie,” Aug. 28].

Guess Dana Calvo hasn’t noticed how many flat-screen monitors are in SUVs and minivans these days. Californians enjoy a good movie from the comfort of their vehicle as much as Texans -- the difference is, we’re getting somewhere while we’re doing it.
