The Dodgers won National League rookie-of-the-year honors from 1992-96 with first baseman Eric Karros, catcher Mike Piazza, outfielder Raul Mondesi, pitcher Hideo Nomo and outfielder Todd Hollandsworth. Here is an update:

* Karros had at least 20 home runs eight times with a career high of 34 in 1996 and 1999 and finished with 284 home runs (all but 14 with the Dodgers). Karros batted .268 for his career. He played for the Dodgers until 2003 when he moved on to the Chicago Cubs and then the Oakland A’s (2004).

* Piazza, now a New York Met, hit his 393rd homer Saturday in his first at-bat since being sidelined because of a broken bone in his left hand. He had 177 homers as a Dodger. Piazza had 40 homers and drove in 124 runs as a Dodger (1997) and as a Met (1999).

* Mondesi, designated for assignment by the Atlanta Braves more than three months ago, hit 163 of his 271 homers as a Dodger. He had three straight seasons of at least 30 home runs with the Dodgers beginning in 1997. Mondesi hit 33 homers, drove in 99 runs and stole 36 bases in 1999.

* Nomo, pitching with Columbus, the triple-A team of the New York Yankees, has a 123-109 record in the major leagues. He won 16 games in 1996 for the Dodgers and won 16 again for the team in 2002 and 2003 in his second tour with Los Angeles.

* Hollandsworth, acquired by the Atlanta Braves last month from the Chicago Cubs, has hit 90 home runs. He had a combined 19 home runs in 2000 when he played for the Dodgers (eight) and Colorado Rockies (11).
