Gunmen Kidnap Millionaire’s Daughter
From Times Wire Reports
Armed men broke into an Amsterdam home and kidnapped the daughter of a millionaire whose fortune came from chemical sales, including some to Iraq in the 1980s, police said.
Police said the gunmen abducted Claudia Melchers, 37, late Monday. Melchers, who runs a catering company, is the daughter of Hans Melchers, who owns Melchemie Holland BV. It was unclear whether the crime was related to his business.
The kidnappers did not immediately publicize any demand.
